DETERMINATION OF DISTRICT CHAMPIONS: The 1st place team will be designated asPATRIOT DISTRICT Champion and will receive the championship PLAQUE and PATCHES.

SCORERS TABLE: LIMIT TO ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL

AWARDS:1team plaque for the district champion & patches for the districtchampionship team. INDIVIDUALS WILL BE AWARDED MEDALS.

ADMISSION:$5 for students; $7 foradults; cash and ETix available

Complimentary:Tickets accepted only from the schools competing. Schools participating may issue complimentary tickets to faculty and staff.

PASSES:Regional Administrative/VHSL passes and working PRESS passes will be honored.

GENERAL: All EVENTS are conducted under the NFHS Rules.

ENTRYDEADLINE : ALL ENTRIES must be submitted on www.milestat.com. Entries will all be due by NOON onMonday, January 29.on milestat.com. Entries submitted intomilestat.com are the team's official entry and the responsibility of the HeadCoach. If athletes are erroneously omitted into milestat.com, it will disqualify their participation in the event.

ENTRIES:Each school may enter 3 individuals in eachevent. However, a school may enter more than 3 individuals in an eventproviding ALL individuals entered in that event meet the District QualifyingStandard. All running and shot put and high jump entries must be verified. TheDistrict meet will allow entries with no height in the pole vault and nodistance in the long jump and triple jump.Times obtained on an outdoor (400m) track will be accepted.

All usable regular season performances MUST bein the milestat.com or athletic.net databases PRIOR to the deadline of the District Championships inorder to be used.

Each team will also be permitted one relay ineach relay event.

EVENT LIMITATION:In one meet a contestant may compete in any number of field events, but shall be limited to participation in only three running events. Exception, a contestant who competes in the3200-meter run may compete in only one other running event on the same day.In a two-day meet, a competitor in the 3200m

run may compete in three running events, so long as they don't compete in allthree on the same day.

AWARDS: Medalsto top 3 individuals -individual medals will be given to coaches at theconclusion of the meet. The District Championship Team will be presented andawarded as soon as all results have been tabulated.

GENERAL: Meetwill be run at PG Sportsplex.The Tournament Director and Meet Refereereserve the right to place an athlete, regardless of entry time, into anappropriate heat/flight based upon skill-performance level.

SCRATCH PROCESS: Wewill have a virtual scratch meeting on Monday, January 29. You are required tobring all meet results, as you may be required to provide proof of performancefor each entry.

SCRATCHES: Anyscratches in any seeded or sectioned event following the coaches' scratchdeadline date will not disqualify an athlete from all subsequent runningevents, but will count against the athletes 3 event running total. When a contestant who has qualified in apreliminary withdraws from competition, no substitute will be allowed. If an athlete is excused from an event by theathletic trainer or physician appointed by the games committee, that athletewill be eligible for any and all other events if later cleared by thesame. No event in the meet is to be heldup because a participant is engaged in another event. If a contestant is entered in a field eventin which he is entered, he/she shall make advance arrangements with theofficial in charge to complete his/her trials after the track event.NO TRACK EVENT WILL BE HELD UP BECAUSE OF AFIELD EVENT.

EQUIPMENT: Eachschool will furnish its own batons, shot, and vaulting poles. Starting blocks will be provided, but schoolsare encouraged to bring their own blocks.

RULES: 2023 Edition National Federation rule Book and the 2023-24 edition of the VHSL Handbook.

NOTE: Theone minute rule will apply in all Field Events. Check out time to attend another event is 10 minutes,

with discretion of the meet official.

SCORING: 10-8-6-4-2-1 for all events.

CALL FOR EVENTS: Firstcall--15 minutes prior to the scheduled time of event. Second call--10 minutes

prior. Third call--5 minutes prior. Athletes should report at First Call. In events run by heats, all starters mustreport to the clerk at the check-in area before the first heat is run. Failure to report at the time will result ina scratch. Each individual declared forparticipation will have that event count against their event total, regardlessof whether or not they compete in the event.

INDIVIDUAL PARTICIPATION:In one meet, a contestant may compete in any number of field events, but shall

be limited to participation in only three running events. If one of the running events is the 3200 meter, an athlete may only run in one other event on the same day as the 3200on the day the 3200 is contested.

UNIFORMS: Teammembers shall wear the school uniform. Acompetitor must be in the proper track uniform and wearing his/her contestantnumber before he/she will be permitted to compete. Numbers, when worn, shall be attached to thefront of the shirt for all events.

CONTROL OF THE FIELD: Eachcoach is asked to keep his/her squad in the stands, off the track, and out ofthe infield, except when an individual is competing or warming-up. The only people allowed on the infield arethose with identification tags indicating an official capacity in the meet and coaches inappropriately identified coaching areas or boxes. All others may be disqualified.

REGION ENTRY /PERFORMANCE:Coachesare to enter athletes advancing to the VHSL Group 6A Region C by virtue oftheir District meets performance with the athlete's best legitimate performanceof the season for seeding purposes. Top 6 in each individual event and top 4relays from the Patriot and National District meets. Athletes who have reachedan automatic Occoquan Region standard through a performance in a meet thatseason, including a performance achieved at the District meet. In the event of scratches, no other athleteswill be added to the list. If there areties, the list will cutoff at the in order to keep the total at 24 athletes or nextbest mark less in each event. Athletesadvancing to the VHSL Group 6A Region C by virtue of a qualifying mark mustsubmit a proof of performance (POP) form (see VHSL website atwww.vhsl.org/athletics.indoor-trackforforms) or the performance must be posted onwww.Milestat.cominorder to be used to enter the VHSL Group 6A Region C meet.
